Current Creek goodness!

Back on the mountain after a short break for the holidays! As much as I enjoyed my trip to Vegas there is nothing like clean mountain air on top of fresh Colorado powder in the backcountry. The largest most elaborate Vegas Casino pales in comparison. It was good to be back.
Saturday I headed up to Current Creek with my friend Will to ride the tea cup bowl. We got up there around 7:15 am, beating the plows. We parked, geared up and started tromping up the mountain, breaking trail the entire morning. It was unusually warm that day with a low pressure system moving through the area we had temperatures in the lower 30’s. A perfect 5 inches fell the night before…we stayed ripping fresh lines until our legs were shot then called it a day!
Will was stoked to finally visit this area in the winter months. He knows the area well from his summer backpacking adventures. He told me on the ride/ski down to the truck that he is going to come back at least five more times this season... I said I’d be happy to join him!
